Anchora Tutoring
A tutoring platform built around the people who use it.
anchoratutoring.com ↗(The story)
Anchora helps families on Vancouver Island find a tutor who teaches in person, from kindergarten to university. Students search by the real name of their course, like Pre-Calculus 12, and compare tutors by price, reviews, distance and open times before they book.
Built around the people who use it
- Families see the full price before they book. Their card is saved but only charged 24 hours before the session, and they get a full refund if the tutor cancels.
- Tutors set their own price, hours and how far they’ll travel, keep all of their price, and get paid after each session.
- Students meet their tutor at home, at the tutor’s place or somewhere public like a library, and can message them before and after.
Safety
Every tutor passes a check, a video interview and two references before anyone can book them.
